Textured Pots

When the wheel is spinning very rapidly, I push out from the inside, never touching the outer surface, as I see the clay beginning to stretch and crack, I want to make it stretch more and more: to make lava flow and continents drift apart.

New textures demand new technique, so I have had to break away from traditional methods. With my new technique, it was difficult for me to obtain clarity of color. After many years of experiments, I obtained the rich, clear colors I was looking for.
